Our campuses are nurturing and secure learning environments where a dedicated team of Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) collaborate with staff, learners and students throughout BAJ. The DSLs are accessible to learners and students at any time, providing a supportive platform to address any specific concerns they may have.
To contact your campus’ DSL, see the posters displayed on campus or contact Student Services.

Self-harm
Sexual harassment and sexual violence
BAJ has clearly articulated and identified unacceptable behaviours in our Safeguarding Policy, along with established procedures for reporting incidents and addressing complaints. We strongly urge our learners and students to report any instances of sexual harassment, sexual violence, or any conduct marked by a lack of consent on the part of the affected individual.
If you have been affected by sexual assault or rape, it is important to remember it is not your fault. Sexual violence is a crime. Medical support following sexual violence is available from the NHS.
Reporting rape, sexual assault, or other sexual crimes, such as indecent exposure or upskirting, can be a challenging experience.
The police are available to provide support, whether you are prepared to report the incident directly or if you would rather speak to someone else. Further information can be found here.
Learners and students who have experienced harassment or violence should contact the Safeguarding & Pastoral team via Canvas.
